As an integral component of the instructional program, J.E. Hobbs Elementary School focuses on the developmental needs of children.  A systematic approach is used to enhance healthy social, emotional, and educational growth.  Thus, our program is designed to serve the needs of all children at each stage of their development.

Today, many children face complex social pressures and changes within their family structure.  As a result , children bring many issues and concerns to school with them.  Thus, a troubled child may experience difficulties learning.  However, providing counseling services at the elementary level promotes developmental and preventive interventions that help quide  children successfully at school.

Moreover, to better serve children, elementary school counselors help children to improve understanding of themselves and others.  Therefore, children are encouraged to make choices and decisions that lead to effective frunctioning as students.
